🌀 The Spiritual Come Down: When Healing Leaves You Feeling... Meh
You know those days where you finally sit down, light a candle, and go in?
You journal your soul out, clear lifetimes of stuff, sob into your tea, maybe even shake through a womb release or two. You feel cracked open, clear, like something big has shifted.
And then… the next day?
You feel off. Tired. Flat. Almost like you’ve gone backwards. You’re irrationally annoyed by everything (including your partner’s breathing), your body aches in weird places, and suddenly you're questioning everything.
Welcome to the spiritual come down. And yep, it’s a thing.
✦ What actually is the come down?
It’s the bit no one talks about when we’re all posting about "high vibes" and cosmic downloads.
The truth is: when you shift something big—emotionally, energetically, spiritually—your system needs time to catch up. It’s like your soul’s gone ahead, blazing the trail, and your nervous system’s slowly crawling behind with a backpack full of survival patterns, saying:"Hold on, we’re still processing abandonment from 1994."
✦ The signs you're in it:
• You feel emotionally foggy or disconnected• You want to hide from the world but also feel frustrated that nothing’s moving• You feel like you should be feeling better after all the work you did• You doubt yourself or the path altogether• You crave sugar, sleep, silence—or all three• You start mentally spiralling about your purpose, your relationships, or your ability to “stay spiritual” at all
It's not regression. It’s integration. And it can feel like sh*t.
✦ Why does it feel like a crash?
Because healing isn’t always bliss.Sometimes it’s your body exhaling.Sometimes it’s the grief that couldn’t surface until now.Sometimes it’s the moment your nervous system realises: Oh, we’re actually safe now… and I have no idea how to be in that.
You’re not broken. You’re just finally feeling again.
✦ So what do you do?
Honestly? You stop trying to fix it.
Here’s what actually helps:
1. Be kind to your body Drink water. Eat grounding food. Move gently. Rest more than you think you need to.
2. Don’t spiritualise everything You’re allowed to just feel low without decoding it. Watch a film. Hug your dog. Let yourself be human.
3. Let go of the “I should feel better by now” narrative Healing doesn’t always feel good in the moment—it feels honest. And honesty can be raw.
4. Let it land Don’t jump to the next thing. Let this one integrate. Let it change you, quietly, in the background.
✦ Final truth:
Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs happen after the release. Not in the high. But in the stillness that follows. When your heart gets to rewire. When your soul starts whispering again, softly. When you realise… oh, this is who I’m becoming now.
So if you're in the weird, in-between, can't-be-arsed stage right now—you're not failing. You're transitioning. You're healing.
And maybe the most spiritual thing you can do today is nothing at all.

This is an actual real thing - Spiritual burn out! 😬
